Burcu Uyar - Die Königin der Nacht
While
studying piano and guitar, Burcu Uyar began singing in Turkey. Her talent as a
musician and vocalist quickly earned Music Conservatory awards. Immediately
noticed by professionals, she first stepped on stage in the role of Olympia in
Jacques Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffman at the Izmir State Opera. Particularly
appreciated as Die Königin der Nacht in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, a role she
performed in important theaters thoroughout Europe, her repertoire includes
Mozart's masterpieces and operas by Donizetti and Verdi. She recently sang Lucia in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor in Padua and Berlin where she
performed also as Donna Anna in
Don Giovanni. Donna Anna is also the role that marked her debut at the
Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari. She debuted as Juliette in Roméo and Juliette
in Sassari. Burcu Uyar recorded Gluck’s Il Trionfo di Clelia in Athens,
George Petrou conducting.
Future plans include Don Giovanni (Donna
Anna) in Antwerp.
